Joel (MSc, BScH) is a physiotherapy student at McMaster University, set to graduate this year. He brings years of hands-on experience and a strong academic foundation to support patient recovery and rehabilitation. Before entering physiotherapy school, Joel worked as a registered kinesiologist in clinic and community settings, specializing in active rehabilitation for individuals with musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
With a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine & Clinical Exercise Physiology and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Queen’s University, Joel integrates current evidence with individualized care to develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s goals, needs, and functional capacity. He emphasizes patient education, functional movement, and goal-oriented rehabilitation, ensuring that each treatment approach is clinically effective and personally meaningful.
A former Queen’s varsity and semi-professional soccer player, Joel brings firsthand insight into the demands of high-level sport. This experience allows him to tailor rehabilitation strategies to athletes' specific performance goals and recovery needs. When he's not in the clinic, Joel enjoys windsurfing in the summer and “refining” his swing on the golf course.
