Born and raised with a love for sports, movement, and helping others, Alexa is currently completing her Bachelor of Medical Sciences at Brock University and has quickly found her place in sports medicine and rehabilitation.
Alexa has been heavily involved with Brock’s Men’s Varsity Basketball team as a Student Trainer and Return-to-Play Coach, working closely with athletes throughout their rehab journeys, from strength testing to safely guiding them back into competition. She also serves as a Mental Health Champion within the program, because to Alexa, recovery is about more than just muscles and movement.
Outside the court, Alexa has built a strong foundation in healthcare and sport performance through a variety of hands-on experiences. She has worked as a medical assistant in a community family clinic, supporting patient care, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with minor procedures. Her experience also includes shadowing physiotherapists at Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre, providing sideline support and athletic taping for the Ontario Women’s Intercollegiate Football Association, and contributing behind the scenes at the Canada Summer Games. Alexa will also be joining our team this season as a student trainer, helping support both the Welland Jackfish and Niagara River Lions throughout the 2026 season.
When she’s not in the clinic, courtside, or perfecting the art of athletic taping, you’ll probably find Alexa watching basketball, staying active, or continuing to learn everything she can about sports performance and rehabilitation. Alexa brings energy, compassion, and a team-first mentality to every athlete and client she works with.
Her goal? To make rehab feel less intimidating and a little more empowering.
